Last week, I was working on a table of a worksheet used in one of my Power BI report, I added a total line to it then on my PBI report I refreshed the data related to this table. After checking the data, I noticed that the total line was added as a new row !!!
Imagine that you have the following table in Excel with a total line in which you add the number of rows for the 1st column and the sum of cells for the 2nd column.
After importing this table into Power BI or Excel-Power Query, the total line is imported as a row, and we get this table.
I let you imagine the problems and the mistakes that you will make in your analysis.
Therefore, I posted a new idea in the Power BI idea website to tell Power BI team that the majority of users do not need to import this total line into their models and to ask them to ignore this row when we import a table from Excel.
